Ferie secolare : The winter solstice is the moment when the earth is at a point in its orbit where one hemisphere is most inclined away from the Sun. This causes the Sun to appear at its farthest below the celestial equator when viewed from the far hemisphere. Solstice is a Latin borrowing and means sun stand still , referring to the appearance that the Sun's noontime elevation change stops its progress, either northerly or southerly. The day of the winter solstice is the shortest day and the longest night of the year.

Ferie secolare : Lo Shabdrung (o Zhabdrung) è lo stirpe più importante del tulku, equivalente allo stirpe di Dalai Lama del Tibet. Il fondatore del paese, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal (1594 - 1651), era il primo di questo stirpe. Era il primo per unificare i regni facenti la guerra secondo una singola regola. Lo Shabdrung è terza personalità più importante dietro il guru Rimpoche ed il Buddha.

Ferie secolare : Jigme Dorji Wangchuck (1929 - 1972) è stato il terzo re del Bhutan. Ha concluso l'isolamento del suo paese, ha introdotto la modernità, e ha preso i primi passi verso la democratizzazione. Ha incoraggiato alcune invenzioni moderne per assistere i contadini locali e introdotto veicoli a motore.

Buddista (Theravada) : Padmasambhava (in Sanskrit meaning lotus-born ) founded the Tibetan or Tantric school of Buddhism in the 8th century. In Bhutan and Tibet he is better known as Guru Rinpoche ( Precious Master ) where followers of the Nyingma school regard him as the second Buddha.
