Nel ricordo di questo evento importante, i Russi crearono una festività nazionale chiamata Giorno della Vittoria che si celebra il 9 Maggio in Russia. La Russia fece una guerra chiamata guerra partiottica principalmente per difendere sé stessa. Quasi tutte le famiglie russe hanno avuto un parente che ha combattuto in questa guerra. Gli altri cittadini anziani che non hanno potuto combattere dovevano lavorare nelle fabbriche di armi, il che non è più semplice di combattere. Anche a loro viene reso omaggio nel Giorno della Vittoria. La ragione principale di questa festività era di ricordare i caduti di guerra. In questo giorno, si lasciano fiori sulle loro tombe e coloro che sono ancora vivi escono in strada indossando le loro medaglie.
